The Leading European Conference on Coatings Science & Technology – Not just another Virtual Coatings Conference.
This conference is intended for researchers and research managers, active in the field of Science and Technology of Coatings both from industry and academia. Polymer, material and paint chemists, as well as surface and interface scientists, formulators, designers and industry policy makers will find in this conference a broad platform for combining and exchanging the latest developments of their disciplines. The conference is especially attractive to those who appreciate in-depth presentations and discussions on a high-quality standard.
Where other Conferences primarily reach for a broad public and focus on commercial applications of new technologies, this Conference intends to focus on the scientific backgrounds of the newest technological developments relevant to Coatings.
Traditionally, we gather in the last week of June, in a convenient setting of a 5-star hotel in Noordwijk, a small Dutch town at the North Sea side, with a maximum of 120 participants. Coatings Science International breathes the atmosphere of a Gordon-type conference, reminiscent of the famous Athens Coatings Conferences (1974-2003). High-quality speakers, ample time for scientific discussions, and many opportunities to establish rewarding contacts are Conference values we want to uphold.
To continue with this tradition and to keep the CoSI family connected through these uncertain times, the organizing committee decided that CoSI will go Virtual ! CoSI 2021 will take place from 29th June – 01st July 2021, via an Online platform. This will be one of a kind CoSI, but certainly… not just another Virtual Coatings Conference!

CoSI 2021 Virtual program/settings:
A small number of local organizers will gather in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. If the pandemic evolution, and the health/safety regulations will allow, we may extend the possibility to attend the conference presentially to the maximum allowed number of presenters/participants, at the campus of the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e).
We intend to organize a conference with a workshop character, and many interactive moments to stimulate the networking and exchange of ideas. The program will consist of Oral presentations of 15 minutes followed by Q&A session of 5 minutes moderated by the invited speakers and organizers. Intercalated with the Oral sessions, we plan to have Poster sessions, consisting of 5 minutes pitch for each Poster presenter followed by a Q&A session of 15 minutes.
We plan to have a live discussion chat where all participants can contribute with questions, comments or suggestions, networking activities, and the possibility to pre-book personal meetings for one-to-one or small-group discussions with the Speakers, Sponsors or Other attendees.
We have a significantly a reduced and simplified fee, and will provide the recordings and professional contact data of the presenters and attendees (subject to individual agreement).
We will attribute our traditional Science, Innovation and Creativity CoSI Awards, and we will invite the participants to take part on the voting and attribution of the prizes.
We are enthusiastic about this new format and believe that it brings incomparable opportunities for presenters and participants, both from academia and industry, to expose their recent innovations and exchange knowledge.
